May Day is an international workers' holiday - International Workers Day — and it began in Chicago!
Just about every country in the world celebrates May 1st as a major holiday for working people, except the United States. Why? There is a reason.
There are over 164 countries that celebrate May 1st which commemorates the lives of 4 innocent men hanged.
Every year on May 1st, people across the globe remember International Workers’ Day or May Day. The Haymarket Affair, aka Haymarket Riot or Haymarket Massacre, was an event in what is most often presented as a violent confrontation between police and labor protesters in Chicago in May 1886 that became a symbol of the international struggle for workers' rights. People in other countries know it was because of this protest of American workers, the eight-hour workday became the standard around the world.
Similar to today we know the politicians, both left and right, are pushing for more and more division of citizens. Defund the police, antifa, blm groups causing disturbances, physical distancing people (there's nothing social about what they term it- social distancing).
We know none of this is about safety, it's not about a virus, it's not about racism. All these divisions are created by the establishment to stop working people from repeating Chicago 1886! Realizing this demonstrates how much the political elite fear united citizens. Working people means everyone who works for a living- doctors, engineers, plumbers, electricians, family businesses, small business owners, restaurant, etc.
The Chicago massacre of 1886 has been nearly wiped out of American history.
Ask anyone in the U.S. what they know of the Hay market riot, the history of Chicago in l886. It was not about maypoles and dancing, Communism or Marxism. The political elite want you to believe anything at all, but they don't want you to see the historical context of May 1, 1886 in Chicago! Why is this massacre not taught in Am. history? Why do most US Americans think May 1st has something to do with maypoles? Because the ruling elite like their separation between working people who provide the money for the elite- rules for us, but not for them. They want Americans ignorant of history, science, laws - everything so that they rule over us.
Never forget there are more of us than there are of them and May 1, 1886 is proof of the power of the people. Politicians don't want you to know this.
The reason May 1st and international workers day is an event the politicians would like erased (and they have succeeded in erasing it) from the minds of U.S. citizens is because it was a HUGE victory for the working people who in unity stood up against the political establishment and won!
There were 340,000 people in Chicago May 1,1886 and the massacre happened because the elite powers of the time wanted to end this huge organizing of the workers. It was not a clash between the people and the police. That's a lie created by the politicians.
In 1893 the gov. of Illinois , John Peter Altgeld, issued the pardon message in which he made it clear that he was not granting the pardon because he believed that the men had suffered enough, but because they were innocent of the crime for which they had been tried, and that they and the hanged men had been the victims of hysteria, packed juries and a biased judge. He noted that the defendants were not proven guilty because the state “has never discovered who it was that threw the bomb which killed the policeman, and the evidence does not show any connection whatsoever between the defendants and the man who threw it.”
Making the pardons more powerful was the fact that rather than simple acts of executive clemency, they were accompanied by detailed and damning evidence showing the indictments, trial, executions, and prison terms to be a gross miscarriage of justice.
The American working people in the 1800's were the envy of the world because they took control and the establishment were afraid of them and yes they got what they were struggling for in 1886. The politicians were not happy about it but they had no choice, the people had won for that time.
It was the establishment that had a bomb thrown in the crowd because the world was watching and learning from all this. The elite had lost power and control to the working people creating fear in the politicians, the elite, all the big guys. They had lost power and control because American workers standing shoulder to shoulder took power & control into their own hands.
The democrats & republicans back then decided they did not want that to ever happen again. They took over the organically grown unions at that time and put in their own union bosses who would report to them. Today just like the government, unions take money from the workers and do nothing for the workers.
After the Chicago massacre the politicians made sure to take over the unions with their union bosses that they control.
Today we are witnessing the work of politicians in the last 60 yrs or so, who organized against the working people. They want dumb, ignorant people to work and supply the tax money for them to thrive and live high off the hog. We see it over and over today: rules for us but not for them.
It's amazing that most of the world knows and understands what International Workers Day, May 1st represents - the Chicago Haymarket Riot is the story of how workers in America finally won their rights. But people in the U.S., even in Chicago have never heard or read about it.
It's too bad because the establishment learned from it. They learned how to suppress and keep ignorant those they want as their slaves.
The elite think they are better than us and it's time for people to get educated or be enslaved forever.
It's very important now more than ever to learn from this history event. When government gets so big they control and abuse the people, the people must unite, stand together showing those in government who works for who.
The Haymarket affair proved it can be done and that’s why politicians and liberals are happy May 1, 1886 is forgotten in the very country it took place. The significance of this event and what is happening globally right now is very important for people to realize we must be educated in regards to history, science, and laws. Unless people get educated in all this, beginning with history, the elite will take advantage of the working people even more.
The important message to learn is when the citizens, the working people unite and rise up against the elite, that is the establishments biggest fear. The hay market affair proved it and that’s why politicians and liberals want May 1, 1886 forgotten.
