THE TREATISE OF TRUE DEVOTION & THE COMMENDATION OF SAINTLY POPES
  • Blessed Pope Pius IX (1846–78)
Declared that Saint Louis De Montfort’s devotion to Mary was the best and most acceptable form of devotion to Our Lady.

  • Pope Leo XIII (1878–1903)
Granted a Plenary Indulgence to those who make Saint Louis De Montfort’s act of consecration to the Blessed Virgin. On his deathbed he renewed the act himself and invoked the heavenly aid of Saint Louis De Montfort, whom he had beatified in 1888.

  • Pope Saint Pius X (1903–14)
“I heartily recommend True Devotion to The Blessed Virgin, so admirably written by [Saint] De Montfort, and to all who read it grant the Apostolic Benediction . . .There is no surer or easier way than Mary in uniting all men with Christ.”

Find the Book: "Consecration to Mary" by Fr. Helmuts Libietis Here
[This is] by far, the best book to use in preparing to make or renew the consecration to Jesus through Mary according to the method of St. Louis de Montfort. Written by the former SSPX Legion of Mary Director, it contains both the Treatise on True Devotion and the "33-day Preparation" for the consecration, as well as many supplemental writings chosen by Fr. Libietis that make it a perfect guide in preparing for the consecration. The additional passages alone are good reason to return again and again for a source of meditation, guidance, and prayer helping one clearly understand the meaning of a "true" devotion and thereby live their consecration.

Confraternity: Mary, Queen of All Hearts

After making the Act of Total Consecration, it's beneficial to join the Confraternity: Mary, Queen of All Hearts. The Confraternity was established on March 25, 1899. Pope St. Pius X elevated it to an Archconfraternity at Rome on April 28, 1913.

As a pious union without officers or meetings, its purpose is to help members truly live a True Devotion to Mary as the simple and more secure means to sanctify themselves and those whom God places in their lives. Membership in the Confraternity is acquired by entering the applicant's name in the official register of any Confraternity Center.

Any Catholic (religious or lay) may become a member of the Confraternity. Prior to enrollment, the applicant must consecrate themselves "To Jesus through Mary" according to the method taught by St. Louis de Montfort.

In keeping with the purpose of the Confraternity, members should enrich their lives with a true Marian spirit; doing all things with Mary, through Mary, in Mary, and for Mary. Its by this spirit and means, that they more perfectly unite with and imitate the Sacred Heart of her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.

“I am all Thine and all that I have is Thine, O most loving Jesus, through Mary, Thy holy Mother.”

With this simple prayer members renew their consecration faithfully and frequently, making their renewal a daily habit each morning; and most especially during moments of temptation.

The principal feast of the Confraternity is The Annunciation (March 25th). On this feast, we celebrate the great Dogma of our Divine Lord's Incarnation; and that just as Christ came to us through Mary, so in turn He wills for us to likewise come to Him through His Holy Mother. The feast of Saint Louis de Montfort (April 28th) is the second principal feast of the Confraternity.

INDULGENCES

On either the occasion of one’s Consecration Day or on its Annual Renewal, by reciting Father de Montfort's Prayer of Consecration, a PLENARY INDULGENCE is granted, under the usual conditions (Confession, Communion and Prayers for the Holy Father's Intentions).

Also, a PLENARY INDULGENCE on the following feast days:
  • The Day of Confraternity Enrollment; Holy Thursday; Christmas; The Annunciation (March 25th); The Immaculate Conception (December 8th); Feast of St. Louis de Montfort (April 28th); and every First Saturday of the Month.

  • Members of the Confraternity also share in the prayers and good works of the Missionaries of the Company of Mary, the Daughters of Wisdom, and the Brothers of St. Gabriel - the three Congregations founded by the Saint.

If you wish to be enrolled in the Confraternity: Mary, Queen of All Hearts, please send your Name, Address and your Consecration Date to:

"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Lefebvre
