Five cardinals write Dubia to Pope Francis on concerns about Synod, Catholic doctrine
#2
One observes that the Dubia draw heavily from Vatican II documents, and of those, they draw from the more conservative passages.

However, these good-hearted prelates who composed the Dubia may have placed themselves into a trap, as there are just as many passages in the Vatican II documents that are the progressive foundation (and often cited by Pope Francis) as the pretext for many of his radical changes.(cf. SiSiNoNo: The Errors of Vatican II)

The Dubia would have been much more powerful if drawn from traditional Catholic doctrine and teaching. There would have been no rebuttal possible. But because the faulty V-II documents were cited, they have inadvertently given Pope Francis an 'out' to justify his radical changes and statements.
"So let us be confident, let us not be unprepared, let us not be outflanked, let us be wise, vigilant, fighting against those who are trying to tear the faith out of our souls and morality out of our hearts, so that we may remain Catholics, remain united to the Blessed Virgin Mary, remain united to the Roman Catholic Church, remain faithful children of the Church."- Abp. Lefebvre
